St Johns Ambulance have created this super short video together to help parents overcome this fear & take control to have a better outcome !

It doesn’t ever replace carrying out the face to face training but will most definitely help if the need ever arises !

Learn from my mistake !!!!
Long post alert ..
On the 13th of this month .. this Sunday ..
it will be 12years from when my life changed forever....
12 years from when our then 16 month old escaped my sight for moments, whilst busy unpacking boxes!
One that should have been an exciting day, turnt into devastation and a realisation of just what is important in life! Thank goodness, against all odds, against not having a home phone connected, my wonderful husband at Bunnings getting child locks to make our place safe, no one coming to my screams and me being in unfamiliar territory and not knowing where my mobile phone was..
thank goodness a divine energy & strength came over me to implement what I had trained for year after year, CPR that I had to perform on our own little man!
I'm sure u can imagine how difficult that was ..
There is not a day goes by when I do not feel blessed that I was able to have the strength to save him, but that day highlighted to me, just how precious life is and how something so little can change that life forever! And drowning is just one of the many incidents can happen as they are mischievous & don't see danger ..
Drowning is silent and it only takes 20 seconds.. I know CPR will not save everyone, but if I did not know the skills, my life would be sooo very different right now!

I have dedicated my life to creating awareness and helping others learn from my experience and so when I hear the stats have gone up, it hurts!
Come on people, please do not become complacent, please be accepting that things can happen to even you and just prepare in case.. .

What a day !!!

Since the pandemic I’ve been mainly delivering online with short amount of time face to face however this was all Face to face for the whole day which is quite a lot of time teaching ..
I did enjoy sharing the skills & my knowledge & experience to such eager participants to empower them to access their tools in their tool box should they ever have the need as we know we do not plan incidents …
WIth my training , I try to make it high energy, fun & relatable & I felt I really achieved that today ..
Thanks so much to Joe from Coomera Valley Rotary for organising the training & for the wonderful participants that attended & participated at 110%
I do hope you never have to access these tools, but my heart is full knowing you have the confidence to save that life if required & that is priceless!
